Key discussions with Cambodia’s Consumer Protection Competition and Fraud Repression Directorate-General (CCF)

We are delighted to share that, our team, led by Ms. Suthasinee Sutthavas, and Mr. Natthaphan Benkhan, had the privilege of meeting with H.E. Phan Ounn, Director General of the Consumer Protection Competition and Fraud Repression Directorate-General (CCF), and his esteemed team in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The CCF is a crucial enforcement body dedicated to protecting consumer rights, ensuring public health and safety, and upholding fair market practices by actively preventing unfair competition and combatting the proliferation of counterfeit products.

During the meeting, we had the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive discussion about potential enforcement actions in Cambodia on behalf of our clients. The CCF team graciously shared their valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities they face in applying and enforcing relevant laws. Their expertise in dealing with intellectual property infringements and safeguarding market integrity was evident as they outlined their role in protecting consumers and businesses alike. The CCF team emphasized the importance of international cooperation in ensuring that counterfeit products do not undermine the rights of legitimate brand owners, while also addressing the risks posed to consumers.

This meeting represented a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with enforcement agencies across the region. We are confident that this dialogue will lead to enhanced collaboration between our firm and the CCF in combating counterfeit goods and ensuring that enforcement actions are carried out effectively and efficiently. Together, we aim to protect the rights of our clients, while contributing to the broader mission of fostering a fair and safe marketplace for consumers.

We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with the CCF and other stakeholders in the region, working hand-in-hand to address the evolving challenges of intellectual property enforcement. The insights gained from this meeting will undoubtedly inform and shape our approach to protecting intellectual property rights in Cambodia and beyond, as we remain committed to supporting our clients and promoting a fair, competitive marketplace.
