TMP joins DSI MOU signing ceremony to strengthen intellectual property enforcement in Thailand

On 27 May 2026, TMP participated in the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) organized by the intellectual property crime bureau of the department of special investigation (DSI), together with 11 organizations engaged in intellectual property protection and enforcement in Thailand. The MOU marks an important step toward strengthening cooperation between government authorities and intellectual property rights holders in combating counterfeiting and other forms of IP infringement across the country.

TMP is a specialist intellectual property firm with a core focus on IP enforcement and anti-counterfeiting. We help brand owners protect their rights on the ground in Thailand through investigations, raid actions, customs and border interceptions, and coordinated criminal and civil enforcement. Our enforcement and brand protection practice is built around practical, results-driven action: identifying infringers, gathering evidence, working alongside the authorities to take down counterfeit operations, and protecting consumers from unsafe and illegitimate products.

A defining strength of our practice is the close working relationship we maintain with government and enforcement authorities. Over the years, TMP has built trusted, long-standing relationships with the DSI, the Royal Thai Police, the Customs Department, and other agencies responsible for IP protection.

As part of the event, TMP had the opportunity to introduce the firm’s IP enforcement and brand protection practice to representatives of the intellectual property crime bureau. Discussions focused on current enforcement trends, the challenges faced by rights holders, and the importance of close cooperation between the public and private sectors in protecting intellectual property rights and safeguarding consumers from counterfeit products.

What this MOU Means for brand owners

For brand owners, the MOU translates into faster, more coordinated enforcement on the ground. A clear framework for information sharing and joint action between the DSI and rights holders means that complaints can move more efficiently from report to investigation, seizure, and prosecution—reducing the delays that often allow counterfeiters to relocate or restock. It also signals that Thai authorities are prioritizing intellectual property crime and are willing to work hand in hand with the private sector to tackle it. For companies whose products are being copied or whose brands are being exploited, this strengthened public-private cooperation makes it easier to take meaningful, country-wide action against infringement and to protect both revenue and reputation.

How TMP Helps

TMP works as the bridge between brand owners and the authorities. We investigate and map counterfeit networks, gather the evidence needed to support action, coordinate raids and customs interceptions, and guide matters through criminal and civil enforcement to a result. Because we maintain close working relationships with the DSI, the Royal Thai Police, the Customs Department, and other agencies, and because our work reaches across the country and into border areas, we are able to act quickly and effectively wherever infringement occurs. If your brand is facing counterfeiting or other IP infringement in Thailand, our enforcement and brand protection team can help you build and execute a strategy that protects your rights and your customers.

TMP believes that effective intellectual property enforcement depends on strong partnerships between government agencies, brand owners, and enforcement professionals. By taking part in this initiative, TMP reaffirms its commitment to supporting the protection of IP rights and combating counterfeit goods throughout Thailand.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Department of Special Investigation and other enforcement authorities to advance intellectual property protection and strengthen anti-counterfeiting efforts across the country.
