Trademark E-Filing Updates – September 2025
The Thai Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) continues to improve its trademark e-filing system with the aim of enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and convenience for applicants and their representatives. In September 2025, the DIP introduced several system updates to further streamline the filing process and ensure greater reliability of electronic submissions. The latest updates are summarized below.
Unavailability of logos in white on transparent backgrounds (PNG files)
Due to technical issues affecting trademarks filed in white and uploaded as PNG files, the specimens are not properly displayed in the application form, the DIP database, or on the issued certificates. Accordingly, the e-filing system no longer supports uploading trademark logos in white on transparent backgrounds (PNG files).
Updated filing receipts
In recent years, the Thai government has made efforts to integrate various public services into a one-stop platform to better facilitate electronic services for citizens. Through the cooperation of the Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) and other related authorities, the government launched the application “Thang Rath” (ทางรัฐ), which provides access to multiple public services within a single application.
The Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) will soon begin integrating the “Thang Rath” application, initially covering the filing forms for trademark licensing agreements, amendments, and cancellations. As part of this transition toward more mobile-friendly services, the previous use of the DIP-CA signature on applications has been replaced with a page containing a timestamp and QR code, enabling users to conveniently verify filed documents directly by scanning with a mobile device.

Log-in using THAID
In Thailand, the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, provides a system called “ThaID”, which allows citizens to verify and confirm their digital identity (Digital ID) in place of a physical ID card. This system enables individuals to conduct a wide range of transactions with both government and private agencies securely and efficiently.
To facilitate registration of trademarks by individual applicants, Thai citizens may now use their ThaID credentials to log in to the trademark e-filing system, eliminating the need for separate registration with the DIP-CA.
